About DOING LIFE!® International
At DOING LIFE!®, we have a vision of a world in which human beings communicate and relate with ease, affinity and understanding. We see a society in which every individual embraces change as a dynamic process in Universe, and is prepared with real-life skills to successfully navigate through the accelerating rate of change that is so much a part of our existence.

We are making our vision a reality by designing programs and tools which support human beings to operate within their families, communities and organizations in a responsible, respectful, conscious manner. Our whole-brain services and products are easy-to-understand, easy-to-facilitate and easy-to-use. They are extremely effective in producing demonstratable results. Our products are designed to enhance the intrinsic motivation of individuals as they evolve to be more responsible and, therefore, more successful.

Our tools and programs work because they are anchored in synergetics, the basic principles of how Universe operates.

We work from the perspective of learning as a life-long process. We believe that a commitment to life-long learning is the key to being able to manage the challenges that face us each day. We also believe that, from this perspective, each one of us is capable of choosing whatever we desire at any time in our lives.

Everyday we have the opportunity to confront, ignore or deny the socio-emotional problems that exist around us. If we choose to deny, which is often the case, our problems snowball until they seem unsurmountable. Addiction, mental illness, abuse, emotional incompetency - each of us has been exposed to human behaviors, such as these, which do not support the positive evolution of humanity.

At DOING LIFE!® International Inc., we have come together to do as much as we can to confront and overcome the impact of a society ill-prepared to deal with the realities of continuously accelerating change and growth. We believe that there is promise. We believe there is hope. And we truly believe that we can make a difference.

The DOING LIFE! Team

Dr. Cheryl L. Clark
As well as President and co-founder of DOING LIFE!® International Inc., Cherie Clark is also the Director of Shock Incarceration and the Willard Drug Treatment Campus (DTC) for the New York State Department of Correctional Services (NYS DOCS).

Shock Incarceration is internationally recognized as the leading program of its type in the world. In 2004, research documented more than $1 billion in cost savings to the taxpayers of New York State for the institutional phase alone.

Dr. Clark has worked in human services since 1966, first in Social Services then Juvenile Justice. She started in Criminal Justice in 1974, where after other management positions, she researched, designed and implemented a Total Learning Environment™ (TLE™) for the NYS DOCS, the Network Program.

In 1985, Dr. Clark was appointed Director of Staff Development for the NYS Division of Parole, to assist with the implementation of the Division's Regional management system. She developed supervisory and Management Training Programs for the Division, in addition to streamlining and improving training programs for all levels of Parole staff. She considers one of her most significant accomplishments for that agency the design and implementation of the first Street Survival course for Parole Officers.

Dr. Clark returned to DOCS in 1987 to develop the Shock Incarceration program and has directed this initiative since its inception. Because of the outstanding, unprecedented success of Shock, in 1995 Dr. Clark was asked to design the Willard DTC and expand Shock staff training to include all staff of the DTC. The Willard DTC is unique as a stand-alone correctional Drug Treatment Campus. Based in both military and Network community models, Shock Incarceration and the DTC have an equal emphasis on self-discipline, treatment and life skills education.

Dr. Clark earned a Ph.D. in the School of Health and Human Services at Columbia Commonwealth University and holds a Master's Degree in Educational Psychology from the College of St. Rose in Albany, NY. She has studied accelerated learning and transformation technologies for more than 30 years. Her doctoral dissertation, 12° Of Freedom: Synergetics and the 12 Steps to Recovery , is considered a ground-breaking work in the field of substance abuse treatment. It includes a comprehensive overview of the model she named Social Synergetics™, offering an innovative, fully integrated model for recovery from addictions.

In 1990, Dr. Clark was awarded the Governor's Productivity Award for outstanding contributions to State Government. In 1995, the American Correctional Association acknowledged her for her outstanding contributions to corrections, as "Best in the Business". Dr. Clark is internationally recognized as a leader in her field and an expert in substance abuse treatment. She is the principal author of DOING LIFE! A Life Skills Program for Recovery From Addictions® and SMART Choices: A Guide for Making Choices That Work .

Superintendent Ronald W. Moscicki
Supt. Moscicki offers a unique view of leadership from his role as Supervising Superintendent for the largest Shock Incarceration program in North America and for his outstanding skills as a manager and leader in the field of corrections. He is also the Supervising Superintendent of the largest HUB of Correctional facilities in New York State, consisting of ten correctional facilities, including Attica.

Supt. Moscicki is an international authority in the development and management of Shock Incarceration/Boot Camp operations. He served on the task force that designed Shock Incarceration in New York State.

Mr. Moscicki began his career as a correction officer at Attica Correctional Facility in 1972 and was promoted to increasing levels of responsibility through the supervisory ranks throughout the DOCS. As Lieutenant at Attica, he was in charge of discipline, and commanded the C orrectional E mergency R esponse T eam ( C.E.R.T. ) at that facility.

As a result of his outstanding performance in his duties at Attica, Mr. Moscicki was appointed the first Captain for Shock Incarceration in New York State in 1987. In that capacity, he directed the first training program for all staff working in Shock and developed operational strategies at the foundation of the program. He was then promoted to Superintendent at Monterey within the first year of the program's opening, taking over management of all facility operations. In addition, he supervised the expansion of Shock Incarceration as it expanded from one correctional facility to four within two years of opening. He continues to supervise all operations statewide. His role in designing and directing the operations of the Willard Drug Treatment Campus in 1995 was crucial to that 900-bed correctional drug treatment program's success.

In 1989, Mr. Moscicki was next promoted to Superintendent at Lakeview Shock Incarceration Correctional Facility, to direct the operations of what remains the largest, most complex and comprehensive program of its type in the world. Lakeview serves as the reception center for all Shock facilities, with 160 beds for men and 20 for women in the reception units. In addition to 640 beds dedicated to the full Shock Incarceration program, (100 for women), Lakeview also includes a 250-bed general confinement correctional facility annex and a 200-bed, double-bunked, maximum-security correctional facility, housing offenders sanctioned to long-term disciplinary confinement for serious infractions of NYS DOCS rules and regulations.

Superintendent Moscicki is a nationally recognized expert on Shock Incarceration and an expert in the management of complex correctional operations and human resources. In this capacity, he acts as a consultant to state and local criminal justice agencies, with a focus on developing leadership and management skills in corrections, one of the toughest environments possible. In 1990, he was awarded the Governor's Productivity Award for outstanding contributions to State Government. He has also written and contributed to a number of correctional training programs for the American Correctional Association and is in demand as a trainer for many agencies and organizations.

His work with DOING LIFE!® provides clients with a unique opportunity to learn from the best in the business.
